ABSTRACT

Itinera Bike&Travel, founded in 2009, is a tour operator specializing in biking trips in Northern Italy, and day tours around Verona, Lake Garda, and the Valpolicella wine region. Our offerings feature carefully selected and authentic food and wine experiences, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and responsible, slow tourism.

With a fleet of over a hundred bikes, including touring bikes, e-bikes, and gravel bikes, we provide all the necessary services for a cycling trip: routes through nature along footpaths and secondary roads, accommodations ranging from hotels to different categories of facilities, telephone support, experienced and qualified guides, and, of course, visits to wineries for curated tastings.

In addition to our standard offerings, we create bespoke routes and tours tailored to your preferences. Slow travel should be an opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture, disconnect from commitments and routine, and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones, or even as a solo traveler. With our deep knowledge of the area, our small group tours focusing on food and wine will allow you to experience authentic sights, taste excellent local products, and return home with memories of Italy’s beauty and flavors.

We have over a hundred bikes (touring bikes, e-bikes and gravel bikes) and we are happy to offer all the services that are necessary during a cycling trip: routes through nature on footpaths and secondary roads, hotels or facilities of different categories, telephone support, experienced and qualified guides and, of course, wine tastings and visits.
In addition to the standard offers, we design tailor-made routes and tours.

TOURS

The Bella Italia collection features SELF-GUIDED bike tours with overnight stays in 3-4 star accommodations, baggage transfers and several signature experiences designed to engage you with the local culture. All tours are fully customizable with the option to add a guide, van support, or additional experiences; upgrade accommodations; or extend your stay.

We chose the Verona and Mantua self guided tour. I rode a gravel bike and my wife chose an electric bike. The organisation and service was excellent. Our favourite part was the relais in Borghetto Sul Mincio. The town itself was a hidden gem and the host, Laura, was extremely helpful. Another highlight was that we happened to be in Verona for the final night of the opera season and enjoyed a remarkable evening at the arena watching La Traviata. The bikes were both in good condition. My wife struggled a little with the weight of the ebike, but that was a minor issue.
